Welcome to The First Universalist Church
in Providence

A warm, traditional congregation of believers in the heart of historic Downtown Providence, Rhode Island. Whether you are visiting the area, looking for a church home, or simply interested in what we do, we invite you to join us for Sunday worship (weekly at 10:30 a.m.) and our special seasonal services throughout the year.

MEMBERSHIP

We recognize Christian Baptism from any denomination, administered at any age, as the basis of membership in our congregation.  New members are received into this local fellowship and Communion by reaffirmation of their Baptism and of their Christian faith.

If you think this might be a church home for you, please feel free to speak to the Pastor. Membership Applications are on the Literature Table, downstairs in the Church Hall.

We administer Baptism both to adults and to children, the latter on the strength of their parents’ affirmation.

Members vote at church (and corporate) meetings and share the stewardship of its affairs. The Corporate Annual Meeting is the third Sunday of each May.
