Reverend W. Scott Axford of First Universalist Church Providence RIPastor:  The Reverend W. Scott Axford began as our Extension minister of the Gospel on 1 March 1992 and installed as our 19th Pastor on All Souls’ Sunday 1995: a native of Plymouth, Mass., ordained by its First Church following 1978 graduation from Dartmouth, six years in marketing and computers with New England Telephone and a 1988 M.Div. from the Harvard Divinity School.  Mr. Axford was Pastor at Walpole, N.H., before moving to Providence. He has served locally as the Co-Chairman of the R.I. State Council of Churches Faith & Order Commission, Chairman of the Universalist Church of R.I., Vice President of the Providence Intown Churches Association (PICA); and on the National Council of Churches’ Faith & Order. He is married and has two young children.  The Pastor is in the church office midweek and by appointment.
