Welcome to First Universalist Church

Dear Members and Friends,

We greet you in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
      Thank you for visiting our church's web site and expressing interest in our life and work here in Downtown Providence, where we have worshipped God and made a witness to Salvation for all in Jesus Christ since 1821. We hope you will find that our congregation occupies a unique and worthwhile place in the wider (ecumenical) Christian family and catch a sense of our continuing mission in the renewing community that is our Capital City.
      We are, of course, happy to answer any questions, and hope you might consider the Lord's invitation in the Gospels to "come and see." This may be your time to find or reconnect with the church, and to know the grace it means in one's life. It's what has brought and kept each of us here, and may be just the invitation and opportunity you seek, especially in the current Season.
      God willing, we look forward to rejoicing with you that this is so. Consider yourself invited.
