A warm, traditional congregation of believers in the heart of historic Downtown Providence, Rhode Island. Whether you are visiting the area, looking for a church home, or simply interested in what we do, we invite you to join us for Sunday worship (weekly at 10:30 a.m.) and our special seasonal services throughout the year.

SERVICE

 

First Universalist Church Chancel window

ESL Classes (English as Second Language): 

Each Tuesday and Thursday, 6 – 8 p.m., in the front of the Church School Room.
   

PICA Food Pantry & Outreach Ministry: 

A joint project which we support through our membership in the Providence Intown Churches Association.  The PICA offices are in our building, as is the Food Pantry.  We collect non-expired, non-perishable food items for the pantry as part of     our morning Offering on the second Sunday of each month.  

Community:

Our Church is also an institutional supporter of Crossroads Rhode Island (formerly Travelers’ Aid) nearby on Broad Street, and of the McAuley House.

 

Ladies Humane Society: 

Founded on the 9th of October in 1832, during the cholera epidemic in Providence, it is the oldest such church-affiliated society in the United States.

Providence Convention & Visitors Bureau:    

  We are institutional members with PICA.

The Providence Athenaeum:

We are long-time institutional members.
